Texas Senator-elect James Talarico Crashes SNL

Texas Senator-elect James Talarico recently made a surprise appearance during Saturday Night Live's (SNL) cold open, as reported by Consequence. He interrupted a Donald Trump-led segment to deliver a joke about the show's reliance on the president.

Talarico's appearance was seen as a commentary on the show's use of Trump in its sketches. The previous week, SNL had featured a Donald Trump cameo in its David S. Pumpkins sketch, which some saw as a statement.

During his appearance, Talarico said 'It's clear people want something new' in reference to SNL's cold opens. This statement comes after the midterm elections, which may signal a change in the show's approach to its content.

The surprise appearance by Talarico has sparked interest in how SNL will approach its future episodes, particularly in regards to its cold opens. This matters to listeners because it shows how current events can influence the content of popular shows like SNL.
