Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Ricky Box Music (“we”, “us”) collects when you use rickyboxmusic.com (the “Site”) and how we use it. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the Site.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we store your name or artist name, email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text).
- Content you upload. Music files, cover images, track descriptions, ratings and comments you submit to the Community.
- Basic usage data. Anonymous play counts per track, and technical logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept briefly by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention.
- Your browser’s local storage. The music player remembers your queue, volume and preferred platform on your own device so playback can resume. This data never leaves your browser.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: one that keeps you signed in and one that remembers your language. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Embedded players (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music)
Tracks are played through the official embedded players of YouTube, Spotify or Apple Music. When you play them, those services may collect data according to their own policies: Google Privacy Policy, Spotify Privacy Policy, Apple Privacy Policy.
How we use information
- To provide your account, publish your uploads and show your name next to your ratings and comments.
- To review uploaded content and keep the Community safe.
- To contact you about your account or uploads when necessary.
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
