Chvrches Releases New Single "Overthinker"

Chvrches has released a new single, "Overthinker", as reported by Stereogum. This is the second single from their upcoming album, All The King's Men, which is the followup to 2021's Screen Violence.

The Scottish synthpop band has already shared "Roses" and debuted the unreleased "Conman" live. Lauren Mayberry, the lead singer, says "Overthinker" is about a relationship with someone who brings both comfort and turmoil.

The song is a massive, sweeping power ballad accompanied by a music video that depicts Mayberry singing in front of a bouncy house that deflates dramatically at the end. Mayberry had also released her debut solo album Vicious Creature in 2024.

With the release of "Overthinker", fans are getting a glimpse into the sound and themes of All The King's Men. This new single matters to listeners because it showcases Chvrches' ability to craft emotional and catchy synthpop songs.
