Jennie has released a new single, 'Someone to Hold', which was written for the soundtrack to the forthcoming Netflix animated film Steps, as reported by Rolling Stone.
The upbeat track was recorded with producer Justin Tranter and pays homage to sibling love. Jennie expressed her excitement about joining the Steps family and making her first song for an animated film.
The film Steps, directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, is a reworking of the classic Cinderella story and will be available to stream on Netflix on November 20. The soundtrack features four original songs written and produced by Tranter, with additional vocals by Amanda Seyfried, Rose Gray, and Emei.
This new release comes after Jennie's debut solo EP Ruby in March, and her reunion with Blackpink for a world tour and new album Deadline. Jennie also shared a new solo single 'Less Than a Lover' in July, marking her ode to summer.
The release of 'Someone to Hold' matters to listeners because it showcases Jennie's continued growth as a solo artist and her ability to create music for various projects, including animated films.
