My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way announced the band's plans to record a new album in 2027 during their 'Devil's Night' concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on October 30, as reported by NME.
The band also hinted at returning to the stage in 2028, suggesting they will take next year away from touring to focus on recording their long-awaited fifth studio album.
This will be their first new album since 2010's 'Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys'. The group split in 2013 before reuniting in 2019 and have released just one new song since their comeback, 'The Foundations Of Decay', in 2022.
During the concert, My Chemical Romance also reunited with The Used's Bert McCracken onstage for the first time since 2005 and debuted a rare 'Danger Days' track. They also performed 'We Don’t Need Another Song About California' live for the first time.
The band's upcoming activities matter to listeners because they will be treated to new music and live performances from one of their favorite bands after a long wait.
