British band Pulp has announced a special pop-up event at the Hallamshire Hotel on West Street in Sheffield to celebrate their name being added to the city's Walk Of Fame. The event will take place on October 30.
The pop-up will feature a meet and greet with band members Nick Banks and Candida Doyle from 12pm to 1pm, as well as a pop-up shop selling exclusive merchandise, including limited edition t-shirts, posters, and records. The shop will be open from 12pm to 8pm or until stock sells out.
At 2pm on the same day, Pulp will be officially added to the Sheffield Walk Of Fame outside the Town Hall, joining other notable names such as Gordon Banks and Sean Bean. The band's frontman, Jarvis Cocker, has expressed his excitement about the event, noting that the Hallamshire Hotel is where Pulp played their first pub gig in August 1980.
The celebration comes after the release of Pulp's first album in 24 years, 'More', and a new concert film, What Do You Do For An Encore?. The band was also shortlisted for the 2026 Mercury Prize but lost to Raye's 'This Music May Contain Hope'.
This event matters to listeners because it provides a unique opportunity to connect with the band and celebrate their contribution to music in their hometown of Sheffield.
